West Michigan Youth Ballet commemorated its tenth anniversary season with Swan Lake.  Set to the music of Tchaikovsky, this is one of the most beloved and mesmerizing of the classical ballets.  A timeless love story that mixes magic, tragedy and romance featuring Prince Siegfried and the lovely Odette, a princess turned into a swan by an evil sorcerer’s curse.

Swan Lake has been choreographed and staged by Samantha Shelton, Laura Berman and WMYB Artistic Director Stephen Sanford.  The collaboration of these artists brings more than 60 years of experience with the unique quality that all have danced Swan Lake in prestigious ballet companies across the country.  Additionally, Shelton, Berman and Sanford have independently taught and choreographed for companies and schools both in Michigan and abroad, inspiring young dancers with a love of ballet to perform full length performances, enriching their dance experience while sustaining the arts in our local community.
